Cricket tournaments in Mumbai
A practical Mumbai cricket guide covering location, team entry, box cricket rules and prize checks before you choose a tournament.
To choose a cricket tournament in Mumbai, confirm the location before you commit your squad. A listing described as Mumbai may require travel to a different part of the wider metropolitan area. Check whether the ground is in Mumbai, Thane or Navi Mumbai and use the exact venue address when planning.
This is a planning guide, not a list of confirmed Zinga events. Mumbai appears in Zinga’s later city plans, but this article does not announce a launch date, partner ground or registration opening.
Separate the venue from the competition
Hiring a turf gives you a place to play. Tournament entry also needs opponents, fixtures, rules and someone responsible for disputes. Ask who provides each element. Do not assume a venue booking includes an umpire, scorer or competition place. A photograph of a famous ground does not prove that an amateur event will be held there.
Choose a format your squad understands
For box cricket, ask about the type of ball, net rebounds, roof contact, boundary scoring and player limits. For open ground cricket, check the surface and required equipment. If your team is moving from informal tennis ball games to another format, arrange a practice session under the new rules before paying for competition.
Plan around the complete day
Agree a meeting point and reporting time, then confirm how long the team must remain available. Two short fixtures with a long gap can take most of a day. Ask whether later rounds happen on the same date and who will communicate changes. Keep the confirmed venue pin and organiser number in the team group.
Check the money and the result
Compare total squad cost with guaranteed games, rather than judging entry value only by a trophy or prize. Ask how scores are recorded, when results become final and how a captain raises a query. Read prize conditions before collecting money from teammates.
Common questions
Does booking a Mumbai turf enter my team in a league? No, those are separate arrangements unless the organiser explicitly combines them. Are Zinga Mumbai entries open? This guide does not confirm an opening. Contact Zinga about future city interest and use only a published event page for an actual entry.
